If you're trying to pull off that perfect cool girl look, then all black with distressed denim and a leather moto jacket is the way to do it! The striped button down shirt and d'orsay heels add a little sophistication to this edgy look. I took these photos last week before we got a big snow storm over the weekend! Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind here in CT lately. Only in New England can it be in the 30's one day and then in the 50's the next! That being said, it's important to have a variety of both heavy and light jackets on hand depending on the day. A lighter trench coat like this is perfect for these warmer days. This type of coat is a great investment to make because this style has been around for decades and shows no sign of going out of style any time soon!

Pastel pink for winter? Of course, when it's on a beautiful wool coat like this! This is the type of coat that pairs well with a cocktail dress for evening, or that you can dress down with a pair of distressed denim like I did here. No matter where I wear this coat, I always get multiple compliments on it! A colorful statement coat like this is something every girl should have in their winter wardrobe!

That's right! It's Outfitted 411's one year anniversary!! It's hard to believe that it was one year ago today that I decided to take the plunge and start my own blog. I think it took a lot of courage to put myself out there for all to see, and as it turned out, most people seemed to really like what I've been doing! Over this last year I've learned a lot. I've become a self taught photographer and website expert, almost! I particularly love the last photo in today's post because it's a look into how all of this happens. Almost every outfit photo on this blog has been taken by myself with the help of my tripod. That's how the magic happens! Most importantly, I now have a hobby that is all my own and that I truly find inspiring. I can't thank my friends and family enough for all of their love and support as I dove into this endeavor. Also I have to thank all of my followers, both on the blog and on all my social media, for following along, hitting "like" and leaving so many wonderful comments! Everyone's positive feedback is what keeps me going and keeps me inspired! Here's to many more years of fashion and fun to come!

Presenting the last look from my first collaboration with the amazing Elizabeth Grant Photography! I can't thank her enough for her wonderful photos and I'm so excited to work with her again in the future! Another light weight jacket makes it's way back into the rotation as this freezing cold weather finally starts to take a turn. Listen, I enjoy layering just as much as the next girl, but I'm really looking forward to being able to give all of my coats a nice long rest! The end is in sight ladies, hang in there!

Even though there's still a little snow left on the ground, it's not going to get in the way of celebrating the first day of spring! It was actually warm enough on this day to wear a light weight jacket. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to put all my heavy coats away for the season and take my light jackets out for a spin instead! This is the second look from my first collaboration with Elizabeth Grant Photography! I'm so happy that Beth came outside to brave the cold with me in the name of getting some outdoor shots! Unfortunately I can't put my coats and boots away yet because this weather still requires bundling up. Black and tan make for such a great color combination and when you add in a pop of leopard print, it's a no brainer!

As you can tell from these photos, the snow on my deck is almost melted! I'm hoping that it stays that way! I'm looking forward to more outdoor photo shoots coming up this spring and summer. I think we're all ready to come out of hibernation and start shedding all these layers, but until then why not brighten up your look with a pop of color in your coat! This peacock colored gem is just what I need to get me through the rest of this winter and its the perfect transition piece into spring.
