Minnie My Way...

What I'm wearing...dress: Forever 21 (old), wedges: Charlotte Russe, necklace: Charming Charlie, watch: Movado, Minnie ears: straight from Disney World!

Ok, so maybe Halloween isn't my favorite holiday...I've always hated when a costume gets in the way of a cute outfit! I know it's supposed to be all in good fun, but how can you really feel cute dressed as a bloody zombie or a giant sumo wrestler?? In general, I try to avoid costume parties or dressing up all together, but if I must, I must. Maybe some of you think this is a bit of a cop out, but this is the best I could do without sacrificing too much fashion. I mean, take away the Minnie ears and you've got yourself a pretty cute little outfit! Either way, my almost three year old little girl totally approves! Happy Halloween everyone!!

Bundle Up...

What I'm wearing...jeans: Elle (Kohl's), dress coat: Merona (Target) old (similar here), heels: Mossimo (Target) (similar here), scarf: Target, bag: c/o Charlotte Russe

It's that time of year again...time to bundle up! As the temperature drops here in CT, it's time to start piling on the layers. I've always thought that a long wool trench coat is an essential piece for every wardrobe, women and men alike. The longer length is perfect for our cold windy winters here in the North East. This is the type of coat you can dress up or dress down and it's a fit that will never go out of style!

It's Faux You Know...

What I'm wearing...black denim: MUDD (old), silver turtleneck: Victoria's Secret (similar here), faux fur vest: Victoria's Secret (similar here), heels: c/o Charlotte Russe, clutch: Steve Madden, sunnies: Lauren Conrad (Kohl's)

Fur is another trend that's everywhere this season. If your morals and your wallet are preventing you from buying the real thing, you're in luck! There are plenty of affordable and great quality faux fur versions to choose from! I don't know about you, but adding on some faux fur always makes me feel instantly expensive! It's a great way to add texture and movement to even the most basic outfit, and it's warm and cozy to boot! So give your conscience and your bottom line a break, and go faux!

Fashion Meets Cozy...

What I'm wearing...owl sweater: Kohl's, jeans: Simply Vera Wang (Kohl's), boots: Mossimo (Target), bag: Buddha Bag, watch: Anne Klein, bracelet: JewelMint

Dressed up sweatshirts are right on trend for fall and I couldn't be happier about it! This is the perfect mix of fashion and cozy! You can find them in all colors, patterns, and embellishments in every price range. Whether with jeans or with a great pencil skirt and stilettos, these embellished sweatshirts will keep you warm and right on trend all the way through winter!

Animal Prints...

What I'm wearing...sweater: Forever 21, midi skirt: Forever 21, heels: Sam Edelman (Nordstrom), bag: Steve Madden, watch: Anne Klein

I can't get enough of the midi length this season! There is just something so sophisticated and ladylike about it, even if it is leopard print! I'm totally crushing on these new Sam Edelman pumps! Black and camel is one of my favorite color combinations and the cow hair really kicks it up a notch! If you are going to mix animal prints, try to keep it in small doses so it doesn't end up looking too busy.

What I'm wearing...sweater: Old Navy, leggings: Joyce Leslie, OTK boots: Steve Madden, bag: Steve Madden, watch: Michelle

OTK (over the knee) boots are everywhere this time of year. Whether flat or with a heel, these boots are a must have! It can be easy for an OTK boot to look bulky, so that's why I like the slim line on this black suede pair. It can also be really easy to move toward the "Pretty Woman" look in these boots, so do us all a favor and stay away from the patent leather versions!

Bring Chiffon Back...

What I'm wearing...jeans: Mossimo (Target), top: Victoria's Secret, heels: Steven by Steve Madden, clutch: c/o Charlotte Russe

Thank you Victoria's Secret for feeding my addiction to tops with fun details in the back! A plain off the shoulder tee in the front with a sheer chiffon pop of color in the back! I couldn't resist! In fact, I bought two, this one in yellow and another in pink! This is the perfect way to add a little sexy to your basic tee and makes it so easy to take this look from day to night!

Layered Prep...

What I'm wearing...colored denim: Paris Blues, button down shirt: So (Kohl's), sweater: Forever 21, boots: Forever 21, clutch: Forever 21, watch: Michael Kors

Light weight open weave knits are great for layering! You can keep it conservative by layering this sweater over a patterned button down, the way I did here. There's something so school prep about a button down and riding boots, I just love the combo! To show off a little more skin, try layering this sweater over a cropped bandeau! Happy layering!

Cut Outs...

What I'm wearing...dress: c/o Charlotte Russe, heels: Alloy, clutch: Steve Madden, watch: c/o Charlotte Russe

Cut outs are showing up everywhere this fall! It's a fun little way to show some extra skin in some unexpected places! What are you wearing for date night tonight? Maybe something like this?! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
