I just love these tie waist shorts from Forever 21! This is the type of summer outfit that can easily transition from day to night. I always feel so tropical when I wear this dress! It seemed appropriate for the first day of summer! It's one of my favorites to take on vacation with me! A maxi skirt is one of my go to summer staples! You can dress it up or dress it down. Today I paired mine with a comfortable pair of flat sandals which are perfect for a day of running errands! Add in a fun statement necklace to dress up an otherwise plain outfit and you're ready to go! Maxi dresses! They are so comfortable and easy for summer. I try to stay clear of maxi dresses that are empire waited or too flowy because they can leave you looking shapeless. I prefer a maxi that is cinched or belted at the waist. I added my own belt to this dress in navy blue but it could also be fun to add a contrasting colored belt instead like yellow or red!
